The global Masonic chain of solidarity

The UFL-1905 International is an umbrella organisation to provide an overarching framework for the worldwide countries and regions in which the UFL is active. It consists of the membership of countries/regions in which the UFL is active.

The actual activities of the UFL take place within the framework of the programmes offered by the respective UFL countries/regions and their sections (if any). As a rule, these organise lectures, presentations etc. on a Masonic topic etc. several times a year in order to interest Freemasons in the UFL and motivate them to become members of the UFL community in addition to their lodge membership, thereby expanding the worldwide UFL League.

At country/region level, the UFL is an organisation made up of members from lodges of various Masonic umbrella associations and thus represents a common intersection of all Masonic umbrella associations, regardless of their Masonic orientation.

The UFL events usually take place in a neutral setting, i.e. without working in a Masonic temple. This ensures that freemasons from all backgrounds (including the UGLE) can take part in UFL events.

UFL-1905 symposia and events

The UFL-1905 unites the UFL countries/regions into a central umbrella organisation. To this end, it organises annual meetings. Until the Second World War, the UFL-1905 was able to bring together up to 5000 participants from up to 17 countries at a symposium lasting several days, at which the general assembly was also held. Later, there are between 80 and 300 participants. Around 100 participants from 11 countries took part in Bordeaux in 2005, and in Zurich in 2007, there were 80 participants from 8 countries.

Since then, the digital age has led to a change in people’s behaviour, meaning that events lasting several days are now only feasible to a limited extent due to the increased number of social activities on offer and the greater workload, which requires more and more flexibility in terms of time and location.

The UFL-1905 continues to organise its annual general assembly in various countries in order to expand the UFL network and strengthen the respective region.
